Cancer Mortal Enemy
Cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease in the world.
The deadliest cancers are lung, stomach, liver, colon and breast in that order according to a report by the World Health Organization in July last.
According to WHO specialists thirty percent of the cases could be prevented. However, many factors combine prevent such prevention. One is the economic factor.
Statistics show that about eighty percent of deaths in the past 2007 for this disease were recorded in middle-income countries or low, ie, only twenty percent were in first world countries. A reality is that the greater purchasing power have more opportunities to care for food. Of course not just about money, but lack of interest in information or to change certain habits.
An example of this is related to breast cancer and prostate cancer, common diseases in adulthood. While women are well aware of this, men are not well informed about the risk of prostate cancer.
A diet that prevents cancer dramatically reduces the risk of developing these cancers. Several population studies have shown that the incidence of breast cancer and prostate cancer is much lower in countries like Japan, where many products are consumed soy food containing isoflavones and various types of antioxidants that prevent different types of cancer.
In view of the above, how well informed are you about this disease? How are your eating habits? Are you willing to make positive changes in your daily routine?
In its report, the WHO recommended to avoid being overweight, eating more fruits and vegetables (think soy), avoid snuff, alcohol, physical activity and reduce our exposure to sunlight. The choice is yours. Yes, it's personal.
