Introduction
This is the first in a series of articles in Change Management Concepts.
Change Management is to introduce a combination of new people, new processes and new technologies for a job or organization.-L 'organization has a lot to learn, and someone must be the teacher.
Often executives will take on consultants to guide their initiatives of managing change, and the work of teacher consultants it almost certain money. default.-Save-Hire consultants when you need it, but concentrate their efforts on teaching leadership team . then-executives (including you) to teach all the others.
The leaders are the best teachers
When a management consulting firm conducted a study a few years ago, they formed two groups of people to be trained in new systems and processes.-One group was trained by professionals trainers.-For the second group, the trained professionals head and the head of training of people.-Immediately after training, both groups were analyzed to determine what they had learned. -
Which group tested higher?-Well, um, uh, well, the group has been qualified.
Wait a minute, there's more. The same test was performed six months later.-Guess what?-The preservation of the material was much higher for the group trained by their own boss.
If you think about it, the result should not surprise you.-Unless a leader is a very gifted teacher, he or she will not be effective as a pro-trainer. The professional trainer, however, will not be around when the formal training ends. -The boss can enhance the training materials, and capable of ensuring their application on the job.
Teaching, and in particular the teaching of the leaders led, is an important and often overlooked concept of change management.
You Can Do It
First of all, if you are in a position of leadership, you are already teacher-Every day you are leading people in the hope that they think for themselves and apply your leadership in their work -. (If you're telling them what to do, you're not a leader - more like a supervisor).
Sure, there's a difference between day to day guidance and formal teaching.-Even if you're not a great orator or not enjoy the formal context in the classroom, just think about some of your qualifications:
Know the object
You know the students
They have a vested interest in their success
You have a passion for what you're going to teach (hopefully!)
These are benefits that are going to overcome all the limitations that result was not a qualified instructor. -
Some tips to help you succeed as a tutor
Commit the time - When you are teaching staff, have the luxury of spreading the training, maybe 2 hours a day for a week instead of a day and a half.-Go for it, but at any time on any day plans for training, do it.-Don 't cancel, and do not allow interruption of the training program.
Teach, not preach - Your goal is to share information and allow people to apply it.-I help people understand what's in it for them facing what is changing.
Ask questions - It 's a great way to test your understanding, for you and your students.
Invite Dialogue - This is what they ask questions id.-Your job becomes easier when students are discussing what you're taught.-You must only occur when they are blocked.
Repeat - concepts of change management must be repeated for absorbed.-In other words, the concepts of change management must be repeated for absorbed.-Enough said.
Ego Sacrifice Practice - You're not a professional instructor, and you may find you're struggling with how to teach certain things technical concepts.-Remember that the results are long-term that will make the right choice for this particular job, and be willing to let your students know that you need their help at times ....
