Wiccan symbols and their explanation
There are many different symbols used in Wicca that a true practitioner should know. These symbols represent different types of Wicca and energy aspects of the spiritual world. The most simple to understand and develop a relationship with when it comes to Wicca symbols are the basic elements. These are the foundation of everything you can physically touch. So let's begin the study.
Earth is the first of the elements we need to talk about when it comes to Wicca symbols. The symbol is a triangle on the floor upside down with a horizontal line running through it. Earth is the foundation of everything. It is the determination, vision, stability, fertility, abundance of material, and growth.
Earth is represented also a compass, as north. It is the angel Raphael and is ruled by the planet Mercury. Develop an understanding of this element as it is the foundation of everything. And 'the physical world, and where our food comes from. Not to mention the fact that it gives us a place to live. This is the reason for which it was defined as the mother earth for so long. It feeds us, clothes us, feeds us and gives us the home and hearth.
Water is the next item we need to talk. The water is still a solid, but begins to move toward the realm of the elements that can not be touched. All items can be experienced, but you can take a handful of water as you can a handful of earth. The symbol for the water is an inverted triangle. The water represents intelligence, change, flow, intuition, inner knowledge, sympathy and love.
West is the cardinal direction represented by water. Gabrielle is the angel associated with the water and the planet with water is associated with the moon. Water is the next symbol to understand Wicca. And 'the essence of human life. Without water, we'd all be dead. And 'the most essential element of survival.
Fire is the third symbol of Wicca and is represented by a triangle right side up. The fire represents the energy of expansion, direct commitment, courage, purification, creativity, the Higher Self, and the will to dare.
West is the cardinal direction of fire and Michael is the angel represented by fire. The sun is the planet associated with fire. Fire is the next item because it can still be seen but never touched or grabbed. As we move the chart of the elements, we begin to move into those areas that can be experienced, but not touched or tasted like gravel and dirt can. Fire is necessary for heat and cooking.
Air is the fourth of Wiccan symbols to develop an understanding and its symbol is a right triangle with a horizontal line at the center. The air is represented by the south of the compass and includes aspects of communication, spontaneity, concentration, compassion, warrior ship, giving, concern and empathy.
The planet Venus is associated with the element air and Ariel is the angel. Air is that aspect of breathing, freedom and movement that is necessary for success and happiness of all living creatures.
The spirit is the fifth and last of the Wiccan symbols discussed here. The spirit is located directly on the bush in the middle of all the other elements. It is the balance between everyone and includes the ability to switch between them easily. Is understanding of all the other elements. The spirit is everything and everything is spirit.
The spirit is represented by the planet Saturn. Its angel is Cassiel.
Develop an understanding of all these Wicca symbols and use them on a daily basis. As you deepen your studies and learn to be a witch and a Wiccan practitioner, understanding of these elements will be absolutely essential for your growth....
