How to value your jewelry at home or at work

Many thanks for taking the time to read this compact jewelry article entitled 'How to value jewelry at home or at work'. You are about to discover the intricacies and formulas that highly qualified Gemologists and valuers are using at this moment, to assess and evaluate gold, silver and platinum jewelry.

But before we begin, I just want to bring 'to speed' on what will be required. As you know, the art of jewelry appraisal takes many years to learn (more than five years before they can move) and then it takes several years to gain the experience necessary to 'do the right thing'.

Gemologists do not all become Valuers because of this high level of study, which includes the cost of microscopes and refractometers and Dichroscopes eee ....

In this program we do not even want to explain what these pieces of equipment in the first place because they are too expensive (you can pay thousands of dollars just for a binocular microscope) and secondly because you are not an expert jeweler, and probably don 't want to be.

So do not be put off because we are not trying to make you look professional during the night. It would be wrong of us groped, too.

We want neither the jargon. Only a few simple facts. What we are going to achieve is nothing but a simple understanding of what you need to know, to have at least a 'Slippery Grip' of basic terms. The hardest part is NOT testing or algorithms involved, but especially the identification and systematic of what you are looking for value. The calculations are nothing but a natural result, which shows just what can be done with school mathematics simpler. If you are unable to multiply and divide, and add money, you can take this course.

It is assumed that the figure is trying to get a 'Ball Park' on something you have, or want to own or sell, or insure. Which brings us to the first question.

What exactly is an estimate or evaluation?

All calculations and procedures done throughout this series of articles are manufactured in our 'Online Jewelry Self Assessment Evaluation Kit' that does all the work for you. Why? So it is not necessary. Simple ...

You can go to the Assessment Center Assessment to find out how easy it is to enhance your own jewelry at home or work (The address is listed at the bottom of this article) and discover why we use it ourselves.

This is an important concept, but unfortunately neglected.

People, like you, just want to 'know what it's worth', but this is a very subjective statement. For example:

What is the penalty for you?

He's got sentimental value?

If so, there's no way you can measure or calculate this. It 'a personal thing.

What is worth on eBay?

This depends on whether you are a buyer or a seller. At the end of the day, the value lies in what two people agree.

What it's worth it if you bought from your neighbor?

What is worth to them or what it's worth to you?

They are two different things.

What it's worth it when your local Jewelry Store offers a 50% off Sale?
Are you really buying a business or is it just another ploy to get your money.

What it's worth it if it is stolen?

Does this value represents the true figure?

If you were 'Fagin' in Oliver Twist, one that was worth it for him?

Bet Fagin had a different price in mind when he traded with the Artful Dodger.

But what if you were the owner jewels. Worth it?
The insurance company may have a different view to you. After all, they want to replace the lowest possible price, while you want valued as high as possible. You pay the premium for the privilege, of course, but still very loose.

Tip: A 'Valuation and Appraisal' is generally accepted as a price based on Insurance assessment. ALL other valuations flow of such a rate.

So, the answer lies in some form of accepted standards, which must be based on sound principles, supported by repeatable formulas that can be expected to be 'around the same figure' no matter where you go in the world.

And fortunately, it is. Gold is gold is gold ... right?

The calculations used (behind the scene so you do not need to see them) in our 'Online Jewelry Self Assessment Evaluation Kit' knows that its answers to multiple choice questions, just 'What is it worth it'. Easy eh?

Vai at an evaluation center assessment to discover the secrets of how stress-free is to enhance your own jewelry at home or work (The address is listed at the bottom of this article) and let the 'kit' to do you.

Like humans, not all gold created equal.

Fortunately. Much will depend on where in the world come and certainly can drastically change the value of any jewelry item.

You may have wondered VERY yellow gold which comes from the Middle East or Asia. It 'the same as gold on Sixth Avenue or Hatton Garden in Old Town in London?

Why is this, jewelers talk about CARAT weight in diamonds and gemstones, but also use the term CARAT regarding the quality of gold. Are they the same?

There will certainly be watching this term in an upcoming issue.

You see, when it comes to Gold (this does not apply in precisely the same size for objects silver or platinum) because it is available in more colors and more than a quality.

You have the typical golden yellow, a green gold, white gold, always popular, who is currently doing a bit 'of a return, and sought' pink gold, 'fashionable Victorian and Vintage Jewelry.

Each of these will have a structure other than price when it comes to appraising your jewelry. Nothing dramatic, but still a difference.

Yet the bottom line could add several hundred dollars for a bracelet or a ring, so you will need to know 'How to' find these distinctions metal.

So how do you? Using the best tools an evaluator can own (eyes) while employing the greatest skills you can learn (how to measure things). Once you have these methods impractical in your arsenal, the rest is just a matter of arithmetic.

So watch out for your next issue of this mini-course, where we reveal the most important consideration when it comes to value any type of piercing.
